Discovery Station in Highfield-Cascade, MD, offers hands-on homeschool STEAM and art programs for students in grades K–8. Register today and connect with other homeschool families through engaging lessons, experiments, and creative activities.
Our homeschool programs are designed to make learning active, social, and exciting. Students build important scientific and artistic skills through hands-on instruction each week. In addition, programs encourage teamwork, communication, and creativity in a welcoming environment. So, children gain confidence while learning with others.
We do four sessions. Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Camps. Check back for the registration for the upcoming session. Remove the winter session.
Hands-On STEAM Learning for Homeschool Families
Make new friends and connections with fellow homeschool families while learning STEAM principles through hands-on demos, activities, and experiments. Each month will feature a new topic, with activities that build on one another week to week.
Our homeschool program focuses on foundational scientific skills such as the scientific method and the engineering design process while building in opportunities for small group work and public speaking practice.

Registration Information for Homeschool Programs
Join us each Friday to make new friends and connect with other homeschool families while learning STEAM principles through hands-on lessons, activities, and experiments.
Our homeschool program focuses on foundational scientific skills such as lab safety, the scientific method, classification, and vocabulary and encourages creativity, explores different mediums, and teaches the foundational elements and principles of art.
Adults are required to remain on site during the program.
Grade-specific instruction and activities for grades K – 8 will be offered during each 90-minute class.
Morning Session: 10:30 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.
Afternoon Session: 1:30 p.m. — 3:00 p.m.

Students will explore science, engineering, and problem-solving through hands-on activities and experiments. In addition, lessons encourage teamwork and creative thinking throughout the session.

Students will explore creativity through different artistic mediums and techniques. Moreover, the program teaches foundational art principles in a fun and supportive environment.
