Discovery Station is located at the historic Fort Ritchie in Cascade, Maryland. The location is easy to reach from nearby Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Visitors will find convenient parking available on site. In addition, the area is family-friendly and easy to navigate. Directions are simple using major nearby routes.
We encourage guests to plan ahead for field trips and group visits. Therefore, arrival is smooth and stress-free for everyone.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in volunteering at Discovery Station, please fill out the application below. After a review of the application, you will be contacted via email by our Director of Operations to schedule an interview.
All prospective employees and volunteers at Discovery Station are required to complete a background check. Background checks are ordered upon the completion of a successful interview and are paid for by Discovery Station.

Discovery Station at Fort Ritchie. is a private, nonprofit organization, incorporated in the State of Maryland on July 5, 1996. Discovery Station is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, as of March 11, 1997.
